UPDATE (4/26 12:13 p.m.): Police in Ohio have arrested Monty Menefee.

According to a release, Ohio State Highway Patrol officers arrested Menefee after finding the stolen vehicle he was driving. No other details about his arrest are available at this time.

ORIGINAL STORY: Michigan State Police are searching for a man who they say fatally stabbed his own mother in Coloma Township in Berrien County.

Lavonne Monta, 79, was found stabbed to death inside an old canning factory in Coloma Township Saturday. The Coloma Police Department said the family was living there. The suspect in the fatal stabbing is Monta's son, Monty Menefee.

On Sunday, police say he drove to the Fennville area, ditched his SUV, and stole a truck. The stolen vehicle is a maroon, two-door, 2004 Chevy truck with license plate number BAO4736.

Menefee was last seen around 9:45 p.m. Sunday at the Wesco in Coloma Township where he filled the stolen truck with gas and then drove away without paying.
