If you're planning to take a road trip on Friday or Saturday for Labor Day weekend . . . maybe prepare for some traffic.

According to research by Cars.com, 60% of Americans are planning to travel this weekend . . . that's almost twice as many as Memorial Day weekend.

And of the people traveling this weekend, 88% are planning to drive.

A quarter of people going somewhere this weekend will go more than 100 miles, and half will be gone for the entire weekend.

While a lot of the traditional Labor Day activities like the Mackinac Bridge Walk have been postponed or cancelled, people still have cottages, and boats. So look for tons of traffic Friday and Monday in particular, and stay safe.

Keep in mind, the Michigan State Police have already started a Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over campaign that will continue through the Holiday weekend.

And the Michigan Department of Transportation will relax some of the one lane construction zones through the weekend. Which ones? They will announce that soon. I'll keep you posted.
