MSU Surplus Store Teacher Sale Unintentionally Distributed Knife Pens
The Michigan State University Surplus Store is an absolute treasure trove. The store sells everything from electronics to books, to pieces of scoreboards, to giant letters, to ticket booths.

What's So Great About the MSU Surplus Store
I peruse the store's inventory all the time. While I don't find anything that I absolutely have to have most of the time, a couple of months ago, I did come across this awesome book about Grand Rapids.
But at a recent sale geared toward teachers, the store unknowingly handed out free weapons to some patrons.
MSU Surplus Store Teacher Sale
The sale was held on July 7 and featured tons of great items for teachers (who were put in the running for raffles and received discounts on multiple items). There were tables for as little as $5, children's books that cost no more than $1, office and school supplies, electronics, and more.

The store also had a box of free pens that they encouraged teachers to grab (and who doesn't love a good pen?) Some of those pens featured a flashlight on one end and a pen on the other.
MSU Surplus Store's Warning to Teachers
But that's not all they contained. Turns out, when you pulled those pens apart, they also had a knife blade inside of them.
The store posted on Facebook a few days later, warning teachers that they may have grabbed one of these pens/weapons. They asked that anyone who took pens from the sale inspect them to make sure that they were safe.

Anyone who happened to bring one of the pens home is asked to contact the store at surpluss@msu.edu.
