Muskegon Heights Police Need Your Help Finding Suspect in June 2025 Murder

The Muskegon Heights Police Department (MHPD) is asking for the public's help in locating the suspect in a June 2025 murder investigation.

In a release, the MHPD identified the suspect as 47-year-old Joseph Ramon Jones.

Jones is a suspect in a murder that occurred in Muskegon Heights on June 22, 2025. Police were called to a shooting in the 500 block of Howell Ave., where they discovered the victim, JaQuantay Crawford, who had been shot in the upper body. Crawford was taken to a local hospital, where he was pronounced deceased.

MHPD says that they ID'd Joseph Ramon Jones as a suspect early on in their investigation, but neither they nor the U.S. Marshal Service have had any luck locating him.

Joseph Ramon Jones is described as a Black male who stands at 6'3" tall and weighs approximately 205 pounds.
