The NCAA Tournament is coming up in a couple of weeks and you need to get your family prepared. That means getting the infant on a good nap schedule and getting your toddler to root for your team. Oh yeah, and Steve shares something about getting your kid off a pacifier too.

  1. This week’s first Daddy Tip is all about your infants napping schedule. As your infant gets a little bit older, they will be sleeping less, and usually that means either a ton of short naps, or a couple of longer ones. I’m here to tell you to try to train them to do the couple long naps as soon as you can. You will appreciate the longer nap times because you can get more things done while they sleep.
  2. The next Daddy Tip this week is to get your toddler ready for a lot of basketball watching as March Madness approaches. You need to start to train that kid to root for your team! You can teach a generic cheer like "go team go!" Or one that is a little bit more specific to your team like "Go Green!  Go White!" This year I taught Charlotte both because my team, Michigan State, might not even make the tournament. So instead of hearing "Go Green!" in my house, I just might hear crying instead if they don’t make it.
  3. And the final Daddy Tip of the week is for anyone who is trying to get their kid to stop using a pacifier or drinking out of a bottle. Just rip the bandaid off and don’t prolong the agony. Charlotte was a heavy pacifier user so when we got her to stop using it, we tried to slowly wean her off. Turns out that didn’t work at all. So you need to just take that pacifier and don’t give it back and just put up with a couple of days of crying because they will get over it quick if you just cut them off cold Turkey.

And now it’s time for an awesome Dad Joke?

I don't mean to brag, but...
