The next time you're craving pizza you'll have another option to choose from.

On Friday, Grand Rapids will welcome another pizza restaurant, Loretta's Deep Dish, whose slogan is "Real Chicago Pizza in Grand Rapids." Mark Sellers, the guy who started BarFly Ventures (HopCat, GRBC, and Stella's Lounge), is behind this new concept.

In a statement on the website, Sellers says his childhood best friend's Aunt Loretta is the inspiration for this new restaurant and he and his head chef have worked to recreate Aunt Loretta's homemade deep-dish pizza that he grew up loving.

Sellers told MLive that Loretta's Deep Dish has been in the works for the last three months and will finally open Friday in the basement of Max's Sea South Hideaway, which Sellers also owns. Furthermore, he told MLive that this will be the "best pizza" in the city. Loretta's does pride themselves on their homemade ingredients including the dough, sauce, meat, and lasagna just to name a few. Other ingredients come from farms around the Midwest while the bread is provided by Beer City Bread Company in Grand Rapids and the cheese from Wisconsin.

There are seven different deep-dish pizzas available which all in some way or another pay homage to the Windy City. In addition to pies, you'll also find baked sub sandwiches, salads, and lasagna on the menu.

Loretta's Deep Dish will be open for curbside pickup and delivery only Wednesday through Sunday from 3p-9p. It's located at 58 Ionia Ave. SW in Downtown Grand Rapids.
