Diet Pepsi is making big changes. After fans of the diet brand have come out about their concerns about their ingredients they have decided to try and take a healthy turn.

PepsiCo says it's dropping aspartame from Diet Pepsi. In recent years it seems that sales in diet soda have gone done in response to Americans wanting to switch to healthier products.

Competitor Coca-Cola said this week that sales volume for Diet Coke, which also uses aspartame, fell 5 percent in North America in the first three months of the year.

The new Diet Pepsi will start hitting shelves in August in only the U.S. The change will affect all varieties of Diet Pepsi, such as Caffeine Free Diet Pepsi and Wild Cherry Diet Pepsi. It will not apply to other PepsiCo drinks, such as Diet Mountain Dew.
