Norton Shores Police Officer Killed in Single-Vehicle Crash

A 10-year veteran of the Norton Shores Police Department was killed Wednesday morning in a single-car crash.

WZZM-13 reports that the crash happened just before 5 a.m. Wednesday, May 10.

Officer Jon Ginka was severely injured in the crash. He was taken to a nearby hospital where he later died.

The cause of the crash is not known at this time. Norton Shores Police are expected to hold a press conference Wednesday afternoon to provide more information.

Officer Ginka leaves behind a wife and two children.
