That was a heck of a light show last night, right? An isolated thunderstorm rolled through West Michigan, rocking Kent County specifically last night. An intense lightning storm and heavy rains caused some damage, specifically in Kentwood, Grand Rapids, Comstock Park and Wyoming.

Currently, the area is under a flood warning until 8:30am and if you drive down Divison street- you'll see why. Our favorite gateway between Grand Rapids and Wyoming is underwater this morning after flash flooding hit the area overnight, leaving several cars stranded. Several posts have been shared on facebook of what people are seeing:

There are also reports of flooding on Turner Street near Ann Street, as well. Water may continue to rise throughout the morning, and some roads do have debris, so you'll want to be careful and watch out on your drive to work. If you see roads covered in water, turn around and don't drown. You never know what is underwater, so don't take the risk of getting stuck.

But, your commute otherwise should be pretty easy. There are some bad spots, but nothing that is crazy or hard to get around outside of these problem areas.

After 8:30 this morning, we aren't entirely in the clear. We are expecting more storms this evening and tonight, so if you have plans to travel make sure you're aware of your route and take your time if it is raining. We'll try to keep you up to date as we see things happening here in West Michigan.
