Now it's just been announced that Patrick Kane who's been with the Red Wings for the past 3 years is going back to Chicago to play for his former team the Blackhawks.

He then played one season in New York for the Rangers before joining the Detroit Red Wings.

Patrick Kane Returns Home

The new deal with the Blackhawks will have Patrick Kane playing for 2 seasons and will be worth a total of $16 million.

I suspect that he went home for several reasons.

They have failed to make a playoff appearance in over 10 years.

Add into the mix that there is change in leadership, so the future is uncertain.

The second reason why I believe that he's heading back to Chicago is for the same reason that Justin Verlander returned home to the Detroit Tigers.

Patrick Kane will always be a Blackhawk and probably wants to end his NHL career right back where it started.
