Just a few weeks after unveiling their Nothing But Stuffed Crust pizza Pizza Hut has announced their "biggest launch of the year" -- Detroit-Style pizza.

According to a press release from the pizza chain, this limited-time offer is available now nationwide. This is a first for the company who tested the idea in select markets in the Midwest last March. Throughout that time, Pizza Hut they tested out 500 variations in those cities before they perfected it to their own "distinct style" on a Motor City favorite.

Countless hours were spent testing and perfecting every detail here to create our take on Detroit-Style pizza. The caramelized cheese crust and the sauce on top take the taste of this pizza to the next level.

Pizza Hut's Chief Brand Officer said the growing popularity of Detroit-Style pizza is the reason they decided to test it out. Personally, I thought it already was popular but I guess being a Michigander makes me a little bias :-)

What also makes this special is that the sauce used is only available on their Detroit-Style pizza comes in four different flavors:

  • Detroit Double Pepperoni - one layer of 32 slices of regular pepperoni and another layer of 48 slices of crispy cupped pepperoni
  • Double Cheesy - layered with two cheeses including parmesan cheese
  • Meaty Deluxe - topped with bacon, Italian sausage, and crispy cupped pepperoni
  • Supremo - Italian sausage, green peppers, and red onions

You can order the pizzas now starting at $10.99 each. Even though they are on a limited-time availability they could become a permanent part of the menu.
