It’s a fantastic time to be a chicken lover because another Popeyes location is popping up in West Michigan sometime soon.

Popeyes is officially opening a new restaurant right in Georgetown Township, giving residents another tasty, fast option for lunch or dinner without having to drive all the way into Grand Rapids or Holland.

The new location is being built at 7522 Main Street, which is just south of Baldwin and west of I-196, making it a super convenient spot because it’s right in the heart of the township’s busy commercial area.

You may have noticed already that construction crews have started preparing the site for the 2,668-square-foot restaurant, which will of course include a drive-thru (because let’s be honest, that’s half the appeal).

Once it opens, this will be the sixth Popeyes in the greater Grand Rapids area, joining locations in Kentwood, Grand Rapids, Wyoming, Walker, Holland, and Grand Haven.

No official opening date has been shared yet from the people in charge or the township, but with site prep already underway and the plan approved by the township in late August, it’s clear things are moving forward. And for Georgetown locals, that means one thing: soon you won’t have to go far for those perfectly crispy chicken tenders or that famous sandwich that once broke the internet.

So while we wait for the “Now Open” sign to go up, just know that the drive-thru line at Baldwin and Main might be the place to be later this year.
