Potty Time and Pinterest - Steve's Daddy Tips 2-19-20

Hi, I’m Steve and I’m a new Dad who has learned a lot of things over the last several months and I want to pass along some knowledge to you!

Each week I will be giving you some new tips for first-time parents and one spectacular Dad joke! So let's get to the tips!

Today’s first Daddy Tip comes from a proud moment when Charlotte pooped in the potty. We gave her so much praise she was running around the house cheering poo-poo potty and fist pumping. And ever since we made a huge deal about her doing the potty she wants to try it even more. So be sure to make a huge deal out of every successful potty attempt.
The next Daddy Tip is not to get discouraged when your little one is super close to ditching the diapers but still has accidents. Charlotte’s had several successful potties, but she also still has accidents. In fact, since she pooped in her potty last she has also peed in her closet and pooped in the tub. But she tried the potty right before both of those accidents so she’s getting close to getting the timing right. Just be patient and it will happen eventually!
The final Daddy Tip of the week is to start getting into Pinterest or else the other parents are gonna show you up every holiday. This year was the first Valentine’s Day where we could bring cards for her classmates and after getting Charlotte’s haul on Valentine’s Day, boy did we get shown up. We just got basic cards and wrote the kids names and had Charlotte put stickers on them. But some of hers were absolutely amazing! The best was probably a squeeze bottle of applesauce that said “you’re my main squeeze”! So if you don’t want to get shown up, hit up Pinterest before the next holiday.
