Rash-a-rita? Be Careful with the Lime in Your Cocktails This Summer
You put the lime in the coconut and you get an ugly rash? Whaaaat? A skin irritation called phytophotodermatitis is frightening day drinkers everywhere. This allergy tends to occur when there's lime juice on the skin and it gets exposed to sunlight. The result is a poison ivy-like rash, that scientists have coined "margarita dermatitis".
The rash will fade in a few weeks, but you can get a treatment for it from your doctor as well.
