The City of Grand Rapids will start work on painting new travel lanes on Division Avenue between Michigan and Wealthy Streets this weekend, in a project they're calling "Revision Division".

The new lines will cut the number of available lanes down to three, down from the 4-5 currently there.  Proponents of the plan say it will improve traffic flow, create fewer accidents, and be safer for cyclists and pedestrians.

A similar conversion on Plainfield and East Fulton has already taken place.

You can follow the project and offer feedback at www.revisiondivision.com.
