Kent County Officer Will Not Be Charged in Death of Teen
In a press conference Tuesday, Kent County Prosecutor Chris Becker announced that no charges will be filed against a Kent County Sherriff's deputy who was driving the cruiser that hit and killed 17-year-old Riley Doggett back in April.
During the press conference, Becker said that he didn't "find basis to charge", saying that he found no evidence that the officer intended to kill or harm the teen.
The impact of the vehicle caused Doggett to suffer a traumatic brain injury and a broken hip. He remained in the hospital until he passed away just over a month later on May 9.
This is a developing story.
