Self-Driving Shuttles to Start Service in Grand Rapids Next Year
Grand Rapids is getting ready to start implementing cars that drive themselves next year by adopting an all-electric shuttle that drives itself. It will seat five people and travel around Westside neighborhoods and the arena district.
In June the Ford Motor Company named Grand Rapids one of three cities in its City of Tomorrow challenge. It is a challenge to figure out better ways of transportation in the future. The winning city with the best idea will win $100,000 to test out the idea.
The shuttle is an experiment to test how driverless cars will work in Grand Rapids and will start next March. Wood TV 8 did a video on it check it out below.
