Hi, I’m Steve and I’m a new Dad who has learned a lot of things over the last several months and I want to pass along some knowledge to you!

Each week I will be giving you some new tips for first-time parents and one spectacular Dad joke!  So let's get to the tips!

  1. Today’s first Daddy Tip is all about snacking. I learned on Sunday that you should be careful when letting them grab their own snack. Charlotte saw the animal crackers, so I opened up the bag and handed it to her so she could have a few. Next thing I know, she’s running in the other room and dumping the entire brand new bag on the floor in front of our dog so he could have some. Sweet intention, but I literally just bought that bag and she dumped it all out. So, my advice is to not let your little one have the whole bag of snacks until they get a little bit older.
  2. The next Daddy Tip of the week is to be prepared to be bossed around by your toddler. Once your kiddo learns to say mine, my turn, and no, it’s always her turn and everything is hers. They will be dragging you around the house by the hand, telling you to sit and play with her or read her a book. During playtime it’s not a huge deal that she acts bossy because I think most toddlers do when they first start talking a lot, but you gotta work on stopping that bossy behavior when it’s inappropriate or else that kid is going to run the house.
  3. And the final Daddy Tip of the week is a fun tip for bath time. One of Charlotte’s favorite times of night is bath time and I think it’s because we have so many toys for her. That girl would stay in there all night if we let her because she loves playing with her toys. Specifically her funny face wall clings. I’ve mentioned the letter wall clings in a past Daddy Tips and since then we got foam faces that stick to the wall and have dozens of accessories like eyes, glasses, hair, beards, and noses. Whenever she’s done in the tub it looks like Picasso just finished taking a bath. They are a must get for any toddler who loves playing in the bath.

And now it’s time for an awesome Dad Joke!

Q: Why did the math book look so sad?
A: Because of all of its problems!
