Although, I must admit, I kind of wanted this to be true.

A woman at a Midland school board meeting said she heard that one school had placed litter boxes in a school restroom for students "identifying as cats". Needless to say, it ain't so, Joe.

Midland Public Schools Superintendent Michael Sharrow took to social media this week to refute a rumor going around saying that a student in the district identifies as a cat, and because of that, there is a litter box for them to use in the one of the school's restrooms.

"It is unconscionable that this afternoon I am sending this communication," Midland Public Schools Superintendent Michael Sharrow wrote in a community message Thursday. "There is no truth whatsoever to this false statement/accusation! There have never been litter boxes within MPS schools."

The rumor was made public by a concerned parent, Lisa Hansen, at a school board meeting last month.

"Yesterday I heard something, and I was stunned, and today I am equally stunned and a little bit upset. Well, not a little bit, a lot a bit upset — furious; I would even use that word," Hansen said. "I heard that at least one of our schools in our town has a, in one of the unisex bathrooms, a litter box for the kids that identify as cats. And um, I am really disturbed by that."

While the Superintendent says it isn't true, Hansen to her credit, is planning "to do some more investigation" on the issue because "[her] child is put in an environment like that."

Good luck with that, Lisa, in the meantime, if you're truly interested in a story where a human did indeed poop in a litter box as a joke, look no further than George Clooney, who did it as a prank on his friend, Richard Kind.
