The international artist competition, ArtPrize, begins this September 15th. Here is what you need to know before the artist competition that takes Grand Rapids by storm.

ArtPrize's website has been having problems all day. High traffic led to the website crashing and kept many from being able to place their votes on the final day of the first round. ArtPrize has extended the voting deadline of the first round due to these problems.  Voting had been scheduled to end at 11:59pm tonight, voting will now end at 4:00pm on Thursday.

Today is a very busy day for ArtPrize.  The deadline for voting for the top ten of ArtPrize is at 11:59pm tonight.  That makes the timing of this crash very difficult. WZZM reports artprize.org crashed at about 8:30am today.  It was back up about four hours later, but problems are still being reported at the time of this post.
