The world is collectively mourning the death of musical icon Prince, and Grand Rapids honored the man in purple and suede by turning one of it's mostly recognizable monuments blue.
For the first time ever, swing dancers will be taking over downtown Grand Rapids' "Blue Bridge" for one special night of dancing under the stars (well for part of the night, anyway.)
Grand Rapids Original Swing Society start the dancing at 7 p.m. Tuesday, and will continue until 9:30 p.m.
There's been talk for a few months now of giving Grand Rapids' landmark 'Blue Bridge' a bit of a makeover, and it seems officials have finally come up with a plan. For those concerned that the color would change, fear not, we won't have to call it the red, green, yellow, or orange bridge in the future.
