So why do the Olympic Officials take things so seriously? After Ryan Lochte destroyed golden boy Michael Phelps and everyone else in the 400 IM, he was barred from wearing his red, white and blue "grill" on the medal stand.

Michigan will send 11 athletes to the 2012 Summer Olympic Games in London.  Of those 11, two hail from West Michigan.  Tia Brooks of Grand Rapids will compete in the women's shot put event.  And, Dathan Ritzenhein will compete in his 3rd Olympic Games by running in the 10,000m event.
