I was thrilled last night when, in the middle of the Grammys, they took some time to talk about domestic violence. The things that have gone on in the public eye over the past year or so (mostly dealing with NFL players) has opened up a dialogue about domestic violence that I feel is very important.

However, while President Obama and domestic violence survivor Brooke Axtell hit the nail on the head with their statements Sunday night, I have and issue with the Grammys and their stance on the subject. That issue is Chris Brown

For those who may have forgotten, in 2009 Chris Brown assaulted Rihanna (who he was dating at the time) as they left a Grammy party just before the awards ceremony. Both of them were supposed to perform that year, and both of them cancelled. Chris Brown was then blacklisted from the ceremony. But, just 3 years later in 2012, Brown was not only invited back to the ceremony, he was invited to perform.

When asked about their decision to have Brown perform at the Grammys, Grammy Executive Producer Ken Erhlich explained, "I think people deserve a second chance, you know. If you'll note, he has not been on the Grammys for the past few years and it may have taken us a while to kind of get over the fact that we were the victim of what happened."

Yes, the Grammys were the victim. Not Rihanna, the Grammys. Check out the video above for my thoughts on this whole situation.

Here's what President Obama had to say during the ceremony Sunday night:
