It's been announced that the University of Michigan vs. Michigan State University football game will be taking place starting at  3:30 p.m. October 17 at The Big House in Ann Arbor.

The game will be carried on either ABC, ESPN or ESPN2. That decision will be announced next week, and most likely depends on the outcome of the Michigan vs.Northwestern game this weekend. If the Wolverines pull out a win, the game likely will likely be carried on a bigger network since it will involve two teams that are ranked in the top 15.

The Spartans are currently ranked No. 4 in the Associated Press poll with a record of 5-0, and the Wolverines (4-1) are ranked No. 18.

According to WZZM-13, the last time both teams went into a game against each other ranked in the top 20 was in 2010. Back then U of M was ranked number 18 and MSU was 17.
