Airports across the country are going on a hiring spree before the busiest travel season, specifically looking to fill thousands of TSA positions.

Executive Assistant Administrator for TSA’s Security Operations spoke about the importance of Transportation Security Officers in a news release,

TSOs are a critical first line defense in securing our nation’s commercial air transportation system.

She also said that they expect a high number of travelers this year and that these positions are crucial in ensuring a safe and smooth experience for flyers and staff.

TSA is currently looking to fill 6,000 full- and part-time positions at 430 airports across the country, including Gerald R. Ford International Airport, says FOX 17.

The press release from TSA states that the job comes with full benefits including medical care, vacation times, paid sick days, and retirement plans. They say everyone is encouraged to send in application if interested.

...including military veterans and persons with disabilities.
