Uccello's Ristorante continues to expand around the Grand Rapids-area.

The announcement was made on Monday and will open where the current Mazzo Cucina D’Italian restaurant is now, on Monroe Center. Fox 17 reports that Mazzo officially closed their doors Saturday night. Both restaurants confirmed the news on their Facebook pages.

It's no surprise that Uccello's already has a "we're hiring" ad posted for their Downtown location as they plan to open sometime in May. Open interviews are being held this Wednesday 4/11 through Friday 4/13. More information and how to apply can be found here. They're hiring for all positions!

Downtown will make it the sixth Uccello's location. Right now they operate in Grandville, Caledonia, Walker, Rockford & Grand Rapids.

Since the parent company (Uccello's Hospitality Group) owned Mazzo there's no need to worry if you have an unused gift card. You can redeem it at any Uccello's restaurant or Herb & Fire Pizzeria.

In addition to their specials, according to Fox 17 this new place will also have the same wood-stone ovens [to make pizza] as Herb & Fire plus a four-story banquet space.
