You can cut into your costs this Thanksgiving by getting your turkey for free, and getting lots of positive feelings for yourself as well. It's a win-win!

All you have to do is give blood to Michigan Blood on Fuller, and you'll receive a coupon for your bird, courtesy of SpartanNash!

Anyone who donates blood between November 15 and 22 at a designated Michigan Blood donor center or blood drive will get a coupon for a free 10-12 pound Open Acres or Spartan brand turkey. The coupon can be redeemed at any of the 87 SpartanNash retail stores throughout Michigan, including Family Fare Supermarkets, D&W Fresh Market, Forest Hills Foods, VG’s and ValuLand.

Blood donations are always down during the holidays as people spend more time traveling. But the need for blood never ends, which means the need for donors doesn’t, either.

“We’re really excited about this thank you gift for our dedicated donors,” said Alicia Barry, interim manager of community relations & marketing for Michigan Blood, “This will ensure that patients across Michigan get the lifesaving blood they need, while blood donors check an item off their shopping list for Thanksgiving!”
