Silver Kilmer posted a photo in Grand Rapids Informed on Wednesday, July 9, and asked the question that we all have.
What’s going on at 44th St. behind MR BURGER this is in the parking lot.
Social Media Buzz: From Gilgamesh to Godzilla
Folks in the comments had some ideas. Andrew H. stated simply, "he looks like Gilgamesh." (He's not wrong...)
Travis R. wondered if this was the return of the Thundercats. (It does look a little like one of the Thundercats action figures we had in our house when I was a kid.)
Another commenter, Christian D., speculated that it might be the new Mr. Burger mascot. (Turns out, it isn't.)

A few commenters thought it might be something that has come to take over the city. Angel Z. said,

Turns out, it's none of those things. Although I thought it might be a distant relative of the Steam Pig.
Messiah's Mansion Tour Visiting Grand Rapids
The statue is part of the Messiah's Mansion tour. According to the tour's official website, it will be in Grand Rapids at 4440 Bowen Blvd. SE in Grand Rapids from July 12-20. It's being brought to town by the Kentwood Seventh-Day Adventist Church.
What is the Messiah's Mansion Exhibit?
The exhibit, which is free to attend, features at least five giant statues of "the visions and dreams given to the prophet Daniel."

The statues include an 18-foot-tall statue of Daniel, a lion with wings, a bear, a leopard, and a "beast".
