Spring Has Sprung: When Do West Michigan’s Greenhouses Open?

The sun is out, the snow is melting, and it's finally time to spend a little time outside enjoying the greenery.

And if you love to have a beautiful green space inside or outside, one of West Michigan's greenhouses will have your best selection of plants and experts to help you bring some life to the ones who are feeling a little lackluster after a long winter.

Koetsier's Greenhouse

Already open for the season!

This family-owned and operated garden center not only specializes in a wide variety of plants, they also offer classes for anyone wanting to level up their green thumb.

Motman's Greenhouse

Opening Monday April 11th

Located just minutes away from Grand Valley State University, Motman's is one of the top nurseries in Grand Rapids. They have a large selection of plants for inside and outside.

If you join them on opening day, you can catch the dune buggy food truck and possibly win gift cards while you pick up the perfect plant to join your garden.

Flowerland

Open year round, but just switched to their spring hours

If you want to be an expert when it comes to plants, Flowerland is ready to teach you everything. They also have their very own show about gardening, The Flowerland Show.

Countryside Greenhouse

Opening April 18th for the season

Located right outside of Allendale, this greenhouse is worth the drive. From small to full vegetable plants, if you're looking for it: Countryside is likely to have it in stock.

One of the coolest things about this greenhouse is that they offer a "dollar menu" which is a variety of rotating plant types that are 4" and only cost a dollar each. So, if you're on a budget your dollar will go a little further at Countryside.

Romence Gardens & Greenhouse

Open year round

This is one of the only nurseries in West Michigan that gives you the opportunity to shop online from the comfort of your home, and have plants shipped to your home.

If you'd rather pick out your petals in person, don't worry, their gorgeous greenhouse is open and ready to help find the perfect plant for your garden.

If you're looking for a local touch, you can't get more hometown than Barry's in Muskegon. While it used to be Barry himself who would walk you down the aisles, this 45 year Muskegon staple is now under new management who promises to continue it's great legacy.
