It turns out that the Matthew Stafford super fan who yelled at the screen while watching the Rams beat the Bucs is from Muskegon.

And he's won over the Rams fans to the point the team will be picking up the tab as he attends Sunday's NFC Championship game in Los Angeles.

A.J. Ferenz was captured on video last Sunday by his girlfriend, going insane while watching Stafford lead a late rally to defeat defending Super Bowl champion Tampa Bay 30-27 in the Divisional Playoffs.

She immediately posted the video to TikTok, where it was an instant sensation.

The video was picked up by ESPN and instantly won Ferenz the admiration of Rams fans, who began campaigning to get Ferenz to LA for the Rams game this Sunday against Division rivals, the San Francisco 49ers.

Ferenz, who lives in Muskegon, was eventually contacted by the Rams front office, who gave him not only tickets to the big game, but picked up his airfare and hotel room as well.

They also offered to outfit Ferenz in some Rams gear to help make the Rams SoFi Stadium a little more blue in the wake of an expected red take over by the well travelled Niners fans, but Ferenz and his fans drew the line there.

“I’ll be wearing the (same) black Matthew Stafford jersey (from the video). People are saying not to wash it — keep the mojo on it.” Ferenz told WOOD-TV 8 this week.

And while Ferenz is very impressed by the Rams hospitality, he insists his allegiances lie with the team just east of him on I-96, the Detroit Lions.

“I am a Lions fan still," he added.
