The leaves haven't finished changing color and already there is talk of snow in one weather forecast for West Michigan.

According to the extended forecast by Accuweather.com, Grand Rapids should see the first snowfall of the season on November 15th. The forecast for the 15th calls for "thick cloud cover; a bit of morning snow followed by a shower in spots in the afternoon".

The extended forecast also calls for a chance of snow mixed with rain on the 17th and 18th of November, but temperatures are predicted to be in the 40s during the day, so the snow would more than likely fall in the morning or evening. There is also a call for snow 3 times during the week of Thanksgiving, including the Wednesday beforehand. So, you might want to expect to have a white Thanksgiving this year.

Snowfall in the Grand Rapids area usually starts in November, but every few years we will see some snow in late October. This year, temperatures have been slightly above average for the month, so it is not looking like we will experience any snow even though it does look like temperatures will be dropping into the 30s the last week of the month.

According to MLive.com, Grand Rapids usually sees its first snowfall around November 8th, so this year might be a little later than the average year.
