
Iconic Grand Rapids Bar Could Soon See New Life
The COVID-19 pandemic changed everything, not only in Michigan but around the entire world.

Former Grand Rapids Bar Could Soon See New Life
One of those bars that closed its doors forever could soon see new life breathed into it.
Located on Bridge Street in Grand Rapids, Kale's Korner was a popular spot for West Siders to enjoy a beer or cocktail along with darts and Karaoke.
Owned by Robert Kale and his wife for 43 years, Kale's Korner shutdown in 2020 due to the Covid-19 pandemic and never reopened after Robert Kale passed away in October of that year.
What's Next For Kale's Korner
After Kale passed away, his family decided to put the bar up for sale in 2021.
Several years have gone by, and a lot of development has taken place on Bridge Street. Now, it appears that something is underway with Kale's Korner.

According to Wood TV, Ramon 1088 LLC wants to open a bar and restaurant at the former Kale's Korner location.
Melvin Eledge who is the Director of Operations for Downtown Grand Rapids Inc. shared some of the proposed changes that would take place.
“They will be making significant investments into the building that will include full renovation of the kitchen, bar equipment, bathrooms, They’ll also be upgrading the lighting, floors, exterior windows and adding a garage door.”
I'm excited to see what the future holds for this beloved Grand Rapids spot.
