Despite not having a lot of snow and warmer temperatures, it is "beginning to look a lot like Christmas!" The unseasonable weather has been great for people wanting to work on putting up Christmas displays on their homes and in their yards. This year it seems like more and more people are going all out with these displays.

Where are Some of the Coolest Christmas Light Displays?

From time to time I drive the East Beltline, just north of I-96. Both Frederik Meijer Gardens and Sculpture Park and Cornerstone University have many lights up in their trees. Also driving north on US-131 near West River Drive, you get a quick glimpse of the lights in the LMCU Ballpark parking lot. This is West Michigan’s largest, animated, drive-thru light show. The Christmas Lite Show. They are open now through January 1st, 2022. Their hours are Sunday-Thursday 5:30-9:30 pm and Friday-Saturday from 5:30-10:00 pm.

The website Grand Rapids Kids has once again put together their annual list of some of the best displays around West Michigan. Readers can submit displays that they see to the website as well. This is a very detailed list. You will be surprised how many displays there are in the West Michigan area. They have also put together an interactive map (below) that shows the locations of the displays.

If you want to venture north of Grand Rapids, there is even a Northern Kent County Christmas Light Displays Facebook page put together for people to list their displays.

What a great way to spend some family time...load everyone up on the car and head out looking at the Christmas lights. With us having a few weekends before Christmas, you could hit a different part of West Michigan every weekend.

Happy Holidays!
