Wise Men Distillery Coming to Downtown Grand Rapids

A distillery that opened in Kentwood over the summer is planning a new downtown Grand Rapids location.

MiBiz reports that Wise Men Distillery LLC is looking to open an intimate tasting room serving high-end craft cocktails at 146 Monroe Center St. NW inside McKay Tower.

Tom Borisch, one of the owners and founders of Wise Men Distillery, told MiBiz,

“It’s right by Rosa Parks, and everything kind of happens right there... We wanted a nice small spot.”

The space for the bar is about 700 square feet. It will have a similar look to the Kentwood location at 4717 Broadmoor Ave. SE with reclaimed barn wood and tin details.

Pending local and state approvals, they're hoping to open the Wise Men Distillery downtown location in the first quarter of 2020.

According to Wise Men Distillery's website, the 2019 New York International Spirits Competition named Wise Men Distillery "Michigan Rum Distillery of the Year" and awarded them a silver medal for their Red Tape Series Rum and a bonze medal for their Wise Men Vodka.
