Woman Hit by Car on Plainfield Avenue in Grand Rapids
A woman was taken to the hospital after being hit by a car on Plainfield Ave. early Tuesday morning.
The accident occurred around 8:30am.
Police say that three people were crossing Plainfield at Lamberton Lake Dr., when two of the people stopped and went back to the side of the road. The third woman stopped when it was too late and was hit by a car.
My neighbor (pictured above talking to police) happened to be driving down Plainfield Ave. at the time and witnessed this accident. He said,
This girl just played chicken with a car on Plainfield and lost. Ran across and got hit. Flipped right over the car in front of my eyes. I ended up being on the phone with paramedics and directing traffic on Plainfield in a blizzard while two people helped the 19 year old girl not move and piled on blankets. The poor girl driving the car was soooo shook up. There was NOTHING she could have done.
She was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
