It’s On! Wynonna Will Kick Off The Judds: Final Tour Here in Grand Rapids
All of us were so shocked at the sudden death of Naomi Judd. For many, it may have seemed as if the world stopped for a moment. She was so beloved, and together with daughter Wynonna, were just ready to embark on their first tour in many years. They, The Judds, were going to kick off that 11-city arena tour right here in Grand Rapids.
Well, Country Music Hall of Famer and global superstar Wynonna Judd has announced that the highly anticipated, previously announced “The Judds: The Final Tour” is on!
This has to be so tough for her, but for the past 38 plus years, country music fans have loved The Judds, and that outpouring of love convinced Wynonna that the old show business adage was true, "the show must go on." So, it's on, Friday, September 30, 7:30 P.M. at Van Andel Arena in downtown Grand Rapids.
LARRY STRICKLAND AND ASHLEY AND WYNONNA JUDD
Larry Strickland, Naomi’s longtime husband said:
“I am so happy that in this time of grief for us all, Wynonna has agreed to move forward with this tour as my sweet wife Naomi would have wanted her to do.”
Wynonna said she will be bringing a lot of friends to support her on stage. Country music icon Martina McBride had already been announced as coming with the Judds here in GR, and she'll do a full set of her own classic hits before Wynonna takes the stage.
But, who knows who else might show up since Wynonna said:
“It is pretty amazing – all of the people who have come forward to offer up their time and their gifts. I am feeling extra grateful.”
WYNONNA WITH BRANDI CARLILE
The tour has said that each night, Wynonna will welcome a selection of special guests on stage, including, of course Martina McBride, like Brandi Carlile, Faith Hill, Little Big Town, Ashley McBryde, Trisha Yearwood, and others to be announced. So who know who else might pop up on stage at the Van Andel.
