Yahoo To Begin Process Of Giving Away Old Usernames

Have a Yahoo account that you haven't checked in a while? Well if it's been over a year sad to say but you've probably lost your user name.

Starting next week Yahoo is letting people claim new user names. So, those that have some random "eirusirl28489" username can now have "coolguy56" or, whatever it is they want. It's all part of a way to get people to come back to Yahoo for their email needs.

If you had a Yahoo account that wasn't used in over a year, you were notified (of course, by email) that if you didn't log in you would lose your user name.

There are some problems attached to this. Namely, privacy. Sites like Facebook don't know whether or not if you use your email that you use to login to their site. Yahoo says they're working on it.
