Michigan drivers always have to worry about the possibility of a car-deer accident when driving and a recent survey shows that it's more common than you'd think. In 2018, Michigan ranks 8th on the list of states with the worst car-deer accident problems.
The survey is based on the number of insurance claims from car-deer accidents between July 1, 2017, and June 30, 2018. The overall amount of car-deer accidents dropped slightly in the last year, but Michigan's overall chances to hit a deer went from 1 in 82 last year to its current rate of 1 in 80 in 2018.
According to the survey done by State Farm "The chance of hitting a deer, or other large animal, doubles in the fall. The months with the most claims are November, October and December, in that order."
