By the end of the year, you'll have another restaurant to choose from in Downtown Grand Rapids. As if trying to decide where to eat downtown wasn't already hard enough with all the amazing options!

The Grand Rapids Business Journal (GRBJ) reports that San Chez Bistro, known for their tapas, plans to open their second location 25 years after the inception of the original on Fulton St. This new restaurant will be called Roam by San Chez and will be located in the Calder Plaza Building on Monroe.

Cindy Schneider, one of the owners of San Chez told the GRBJ that the idea behind their new restaurant is:

...roaming around the world and eating global street food.”

Popular street food from all over the world will be the focus of the menu at Roam by San Chez. This includes food from Sri Lanka, Turkey, Ireland, Canada and other countries.

Schneider says this new restaurant is a way to challenge the people of Grand Rapids to expand what their used to because this type of food will be new to the city. Just as San Chez currently focuses on locality, sustainability and freshness of their foods; Roam will be the same thing.

The new dining place will fit 60-70 people but the owners expect the majority of their orders to be carry out because of the location. It will be open 7 days a week for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

The very first time I went to San Chez I ordered corn and it was the best corn I ever ate in my life!! I want to go back in time and eat it again.
