First Instagram went after Twitter's "Vine" app with Instagram Video, now it seems like they're going after "Snapchat" with "Instagram Direct." Parents with teens might want to check this out.

As my friend and I demonstrate in the video, you can receive private Instagram photos and videos sent to your Instagram inbox for only you to see. Unlike Snapchat, the videos and photos won't self destruct after a few seconds.

Personally, I probably wouldn't use this for much more than goofing around with my friends but it's obvious how this could get abused. Yet another tech related concern for parents!
