Description: Some call it Whiskey Tango Foxtrot Half, some call it The Winter Trail Fest Half some just think What The F..... This race is not for the weak at heart or the cold intolerant. We will be down at Yankee Springs for a winter trail half marathon race and they will be hoping for some of the nastiest conditions possible! They really want you to earn your WTF Medal and WTF custom hoodie! The afternoon start will give you a chance to relax and enjoy the morning before tackling 13.1 brutal miles in the afternoon! There will be easy to follow trail markings, a lot of gels, Gatorade, and water on the course, live results, and unique prizes! At the finish, they will have some warm cocoa, a bumper sticker and an awesome finisher's medal to show people when they ask you “Whiskey Tango Foxtrot were you thinking, racing a trail half marathon that crosses a creek in the middle of a Michigan winter?!” (There are just a few spots available -- sign up now).

The Grand Rapids Symphony brings you Symphony with Soul. With this one time performance don’t miss this amazing show at DeVos Performance Hall! It’s their 19th annual celebration of African-American musical expression, bridging cultures through the shared language of music. Symphony with Soul special guest is set to be Jazz trumpet great Terence Blanchard. Blanchard has been dubbed "one of his generation's most artistically mature and innovative artists and a committed support of jazz education," as well as being a phenomenal trumpeter and a six-time Grammy Award winner. Symphony with Soul also features the Grand Rapids Symphony Community Chorus, a vocal ensemble that sings in the gospel tradition, led by Duane Shields Davis.

Opening this Sunday is the annual Fred & Dorothy Fichter Butterflies Are Blooming exhibition at Meijer Gardens. It is the largest temporary tropical butterfly exhibition in the nation. Tropical butterflies from around the world fly freely in the Lena Meijer Tropical Conservatory every March and April. Throughout the exhibition, there is special educational programming and the Lena Meijer Children’s Garden offers butterfly-themed activities.
