Eleven former caregivers at the Grand Rapids Home for Veterans have been charged with crimes by Michigan Attorney General Bill Schuette.

All eleven caregivers face charges of falsifying medical records.

WZZM-13 reports that Schuette is charging all of them with "an intentional or willful violation of MCL 750.492a by a healthcare provider."

Some of those charged are facing multiple charges, while others are only facing one. Here are the employees charged (and how many charges they're facing):

  • Doris Penny, Grand Rapids (3)
  • Eric Anderson, Holland (1)
  • Jasmine Ferrer, Wyoming (1)
  • Cary Gerencer, Sand Lake (1)
  • Sheryl Hillyer, Lansing (1)
  • Lolitta Jackson, Grand Rapids (1)
  • Emina Kahriman, Grand Rapids (2)
  • Michelle Longmire, Muskegon (1)
  • Roconda Singleton, Grand Rapids (1)
  • Sequoyah Thomas, Grand Rapids (1)

One violation of MCL 750.492a by a healthcare provider is a felony punishable by imprisonment for not more than 4 years or a fine of not more than $5,000.00, or both.
