According to data released by the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services, nearly 10% of Michigan's population has received at least 1 dose of the Covid 19 vaccine. 

WWMT says 1,391,159 doses of COVID-19 vaccines had been administered in the state as of February 9, 2021. In the Midwest, Michigan is leading the vaccine charge. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention says that Michigan is ahead of Illinois, Ohio and Indiana for vaccine administration. Only Wisconsin has a slight lead ahead of Michigan. 9.72% of Michigan's population have gotten their first dose.

The Detroit News reports that although Michigan is ranking high in the Midwest for vaccinations, nationally, the state is not. The report shows that 35 states have administered more vaccine doses than Michigan.

St. Joseph County, Allegan County, and Barry County were all among the eight counties with the lowest vaccination rates in Michigan. Senior citizens are among the highest group to receive the vaccine with 32% of those over 75 getting a first dose.
