Teen Charged With Murder in Shooting Death of 15-Year-Old Amillier Penn
Charges have officially been filed for the June 2024 shooting death of 15-year-old Amillier Penn in Grand Rapids.

Amillier Penn was shot and killed on June 2, 2024, at the corner of Hall St. and Umatilla St. while he was outside playing football with friends.
Those familiar with the new HBO show "All Access PD: Grand Rapids" will recognize the story behind this senseless murder as it was featured in the first episode of the season. Penn was shot eight times, and until today, no one had been charged with his death.
Silent Observer had been offering a $10,000 reward for any information that led to the arrest of the person or people who shot and killed Amillier Penn.
Those who watched that episode of "All Access PD" will recognize the name of the 17-year-old who has now been charged - Cartiyae Pascal. WOOD-TV8 reports that Pascal, who is being charged as an adult, has been arraigned on one count of open murder.
Prior to Pascal being arraigned on Tuesday, Amillier's father posted to Facebook that the Grand Rapids City Planning Commission will be holding a hearing to determine if they will rename a stretch of Umatilla St. (from Hall St. to Union St.) "Amillier Penn Way".
