Be A Part Of Deciding GR’s City Manager, Monday Evening
The country has been very vocal since the last national election, which is great. It’s good to remember that real political change happens locally, and right now you have a chance to be a part of local politics
WZZM13 reports that after a nationwide search for a new city manager for the City Of Grand Rapids, The Grand Rapids City Commission has narrowed it down to three finalists. The city commission now wants input from the public in selecting who they offer the leadership job to.
That’s why the city commissioners will hold a public forum with the three finalists on Monday, February 5th at Wealthy Theatre. The forum will start at 5:30 pm and members of the community will have time to ask questions of the three candidates.
According to WZZM13, the three candidates are:
Pontiac Deputy Mayor Jane Bais-Disessa, Port Huron City Manager James Freed and Arlington, Va. Deputy County Manager Carol Mitten.
Grand Rapids is currently searching for a new city manager after former Grand Rapids City Manager, Greg Sandstrom left the position at the end of 2017.
If you can’t make it to Wealthy Theater Monday night, but still want to watch the forum, the city will stream the event both on the Grand Rapids Information Network and through Facebook.
