So this would have been super helpful for me to find yesterday or even Friday, but USA Today named their “Best brunch spots for Mother's Day in every state” and for Michigan, the best place is On Bridge Street in Grand Rapids.

That’s right, Butcher’s Union on Bridge Street landed in the top spot of brunch places for Mom’s day in Michigan, according to USA TODAY.  The story said 24/7 Tempo reviewed the “`0 top-rated restaurants in the breakfast & brunch category on Yelp for each state.”

While they called the name and motto daunting (Butcher’s Union –“Meat & Whiskey”) they then talked about the warm atmosphere and delicious food including the Dutch apple pancakes and the $5 bloody Mary bar with “8 different spirits to choose from.

I didn’t even realize their Bloody Mary bar was so on point.

Here’s the rest of what USA TODAY said while crowning Butcher’s Union the spot from Mom in Michigan:

Michigan: Butcher's Union • City: Grand Rapids • Disregard the perhaps daunting name and the motto ("Meat & Whiskey"). This warm, tavern-like place offers a full-scale, varied brunch menu on which the likes of apple Dutch pancake, French toast and ham and cheese strata are joined by candied bacon deviled eggs, charred flank steak and eggs and Monte Cristo fried chicken. A $5 bloody Mary bar, with a choice of eight different spirits, is available until 3 p.m. One downside for Mother's Day: No reservations are accepted.
