Movement is so important for our bodies, but not all of us like to get out and run a mile at the crack of dawn. Maybe you're like me, and slow movement with stretches can really get your blood pumping and make you feel like you can conquer the day.
Thankfully, West Michigan is home to many yoga studios that are happy to welcome you in and help you master your practice. So grab your mat, water bottle, and favorite leggings while we check out some of the best studios Grand Rapids has to offer.
Funky Buddha Yoga
This is my studio of choice, and it's one of the highest rated in Grand Rapids. This hot yoga studio offers classes daily in three locations in Grand Rapids, with varying paces.
My favorite part of this studio? They offer an app that allows you to schedule your classes from the convenience of your phone. They also offer a $5 Tuesday class if you want to try them out before committing to a membership.
Kula Yoga
If you're looking for a studio with a lot of options and flair, Kula is perfect for you.
They have a large pool of instructors with varying backgrounds, who are happy to help you with more specialized practices than some other studios in Grand Rapids. They also have special workshops and events, if you're looking for something special.
YogaFever
If you're looking for more than just a yoga studio, YogaFever may be your best bet.
Not only do they offer standard yoga classes, they also have additional classes with weights, and cycling as well. So, if you're looking to combo your yoga and cardio into one place, you're set.
AM Yoga
If you need accountability in your practice, AM Yoga may be the spot for you.
Not only do they offer a ton of classes, they also have a 365 day commitment program that allows you to have others to help hold you accountable for your daily practice, as well as a podcast you can follow along when you're unable to make it to class in person.
From The Heart Yoga & Tai Chi Center
From The Heart is not just a studio, they say they're an educational center rooted in the traditional practices of Yoga and Tai Chi, with the understanding that they are continually changing and evolving art forms.
They frequently have teachers from around the world who come to visit and teach, so their unique spin might be exactly what you want in your practice.
Twisted Hot Yoga
From hot to cold, they have a class that fits you. In fact, if you want a class that goes from hot to cold, they have that too!
Twisted Yoga is great for beginners to the practice, and even offers their own line of mats that you can purchase so you're prepared to stretch. And beer lovers, they offer a class at Perrin occasionally that you won't want to miss.
The Studio Yoga
Simply named, this studio is no frills and just about finding your center.
If you're looking for a small, judgement free community who is looking to connect via mediation and practice, this may be the quiet home you're looking for.
