Hungry Bear Caught Red-Handed by Security Camera in West Michigan
A West Michigan woman noticed that her bird feeder was bent and wondered what happened to it.

She decided to take a look at security camera footage to see if it might have caught what caused the damage.
Bear Caught On Camera In Cascade Township
Turns out her camera caught what happened: a bear decided to help himself to her birdfeeder.
Julie Romence of Cascade Township told Fox 17 that she was pretty sure it was a bear but her neighbors weren't convinced.
So Julie decided to move the bird feeder onto her deck which gave the camera a perfect view of what was in fact a hungry bear.

Bears are beautiful animals but you definitely don't want them hanging around at your place.
How To Keep Bears Away From Your Home
The Michigan DNR offers some advice on things you can do to help deter bears from coming to your place.

- Remove potential food sources, like bird feeders, from your yard. Do not feed the birds in the spring, summer and fall, when bears are most active.
- Keep pet food inside or in a secured area.
- Keep garbage and odor at a minimum by removing trash often and cleaning containers with disinfectant
- Keep garbage in a secured area or in a secured container with a metal, lockable
lid until disposal. - Keep grills and picnic tables clean.
- Apiaries (bee hives), fruit trees, and gardens can be protected from bears by
electric fencing.
