An exciting comeback fell just short as Central Michigan failed to convert on a two-point conversion with no time left and lost to Western Kentucky, 49-48.

“It’s the Nassau City Miracle, almost,” CMU coach Dan Enos said.

Even after four unanswered touchdowns in the 4th quarter Central Michigan still needed a miracle with one second left. With the ball on their own 25 yard line and one second remaining, CMU threw a long pass which was caught, then lateraled multiple times before being brought in for a touchdown.

Rather than kick an extra point to send the game to overtime, CMU went for a two-point conversion, but the pass to the corner of the end zone fell incomplete giving Western Kentucky the 49-48 win.
