Changing Diapers, Furniture, and Routines – Steve’s Daddy Tips

It's Steve's first Daddy Tips as a double daddy.  Steve and his wife Brittainy welcomed their second daughter, Izzy, to the world a couple weeks ago and now they are back to changing diapers and giving tips for newborns.

1. Today’s first tip is to always use a changing table to change your new baby. Since Izzy is my second kid, I really should know better and always use a changing table but since she is so small I’ve been changing her on our bed and the couch. Bad idea. She’s already projectile pooped and peed on both about a half dozen times. So now we only will change her on the changing table.
2. The next daddy tip is a direct result of the first tip. Since everything you own will probably get peed on, thrown up on, and drawn on by your toddlers, you might as well just not have nice stuff until your kids get older. That’s why we bought the cheapest couch the store had, our sheets for are bed were whatever was on sale at the time, and all of our furniture is from Goodwill. Now we don’t care when someone accidentally spills a drink or pees through a diaper or draws all over the couch with a marker because it barely cost us anything in the first place.
3. And the final Daddy Tip of the week is for anyone who is about to have a baby. If you are having your first or your fourth, be sure to enjoy the last few weeks before your baby arrives. Whatever routine you have is never going to be the same so just take it all in one last time. So enjoy your family the way it is now because all that will change once your next one arrives.
